The answer to the uterus question is . . . C. A prolapsed uterus is a uterus that has collapsed into the vaginal canal. A prolapsed uterus is one of several ailments that affect women of a certain age, and can lead to physical and mental pain during sex.1
In this section, I'll examine the things that can help or hinder our sex lives physiologically. In other words, I'll be talking about the things you gossip about:
- How Mary had such bad hot flashes that she moved to Alaska for two years;
- How Tina slipped in the kitchen one day, breaking her hip, while keeping most of the coffee in her cup;
- How Clarissa almost put her husband in the hospital because he had the audacity to touch her one too many times.
What’s that? In the hospital? Just for touching her? That’s right . . .
I don’t know how many times I told my husband not to touch me when I’m having particularly bad hot flashes. Apparently, not enough. One night I was sweating like a fat man in a sauna, when he put his hand on my thigh. The doctor said that he’ll have to keep the splint on his finger for three weeks so that the break can heal properly. He’s letting me sweat in peace now.

The Gramma Sutra believes that a woman shouldn’t have to sweat, suffer or break bones (either her own, or those of others) to be treated with love and compassion when going through menopause. That’s why I've decided to do a hit list of some of the physical/medical issues that might affect your sex life in your golden years.
This list is by no means exhaustive. Let’s face it: We’d all be exhausted if we listed every little thing that can make getting your freak on a nightmare.
Here’s the thing, though. I've learned that as much as we talk about multitasking, it gets increasingly hard for us to remember where we put our keys while we’re talking on the phone and trying to figure out what we’re having for dinner. Multitasking is like multiple orgasms. They’re great in theory but sometimes we’re just happy to get one at a time.
What follows is a decade by decade look at the Physical Issues/Illnesses that can affect your sex life.
One decade. One major issue. One orgasm at a time!
And to make it as easy as possible, I've broken each decade into the following four (4) major components: The Condition; Risks; Treatment & Impact on Sex; and Prevention.
Below, you will also find links to two related appendices: a Peek at Cosmetic Surgery; and Drugs & Their Effects on Your Libido.
