Here's what readers like you are saying about 4o4:
Ron Jaco @ amazon.com
"Team up with FBI code-breaker John Decker as he tries to stop a mysterious hacker, recently discovered penetrating government defense systems. Now, the cyber villain has set his sights on Decker and his family. As a former (FBI) Special Agent, I found this novel not only plausible, but riveting and truly alarming. If you care about our nation's cyber-security, you MUST read this book."
Todd Watson @ amazon.com
"After reading 404, you'll never look at your tablet or notebook computer quite the same ever again."
Colonel Jim "Chip" Marchio (Ret.), US Air Force @ amazon.com
"Strap yourself in . . . you're in for a Mach 2 ride with John Decker. As someone who has worked national security issues for decades, this story is all too scary and all too real. You'll love it!"
Viviane Crystal VINE VOICE @ amazon.com
"...This novel addresses the well-known, but little understood by the average person, issues of cyber-hacking and cyber-terrorism. For those who are computer buffs, youâll be in your glory as there are explanations galore about the technology of hacking and how the internet keeps systems flowing or breaking throughout the world. For those not as computer savvy as the experts, thereâs enough riveting action and nail-biting intensity with each new level added to the complex plot to keep you flipping the pages and reading faster than you can imagine!
"This reviewer has been reviewing J. G. Sandomâs novels over the years and must say this is his BEST story yet. The most harrowing part of it all is that itâs REAL and we may be closer to this storyâs coming to pass than we ever imagined! Itâs not a game at all! 404 is a best-selling crime thriller that is sure to please any reader who loves a great story with layers of depth and thrills. It would also make one heck of a movie! Congratulations, J. G. Sandom! 404 is a gem of a read!"

"Had I read this book before the recent events with Sony, The Interview and North Korea, and most recently the hacking of the Twitter account of the U.S. Army Centcom- some portions of it would have strained credibility. However, in the 2015 reality we are living with, the story seems frighteningly believable.
"In '404' Sandom has imagined an apocalyptic digital drama that not only engages the reader, but sends you running to research if some of the things he references are true (and by the way, the few things I did check were). Amidst the bedlam and action-packed narrative, Sandom also manages to create a human story that makes what happens to the protagonist really matter to the reader. As one who inhales Spy Thriller novels as a regular escape, '404' is one that kept me involved throughout.
"One of the risks for this genre is that in the hands of a lesser writer, the 'shoot em up' action sequences can be predictable, strained and distracting. Sandom weaves the sometimes exhausting action sequences into the story in a manner that keeps the interest level high and adds to our sense of genuine concern for characters and revulsion at the bad guys.
"Finally, my favorite Thrillers surprise me. If I figure out the plot resolution long before the end of the book, I feel cheated for the time I spend with a novel. '404' did not disappoint. I did not see the ending coming and right up to the end, I was engaged, interested and entertained - as well as disturbed about a fiction that even 6 months ago might have seemed implausible.
"A great read - look forward to the next Decker thriller. Also, think this book would be a lot of fun on the big screen."

"If youâve been thinking about getting that new Nest thermostat or a Net-enabled refrigerator for your smart home this Christmas, you may want to think again. Reading 404 had me on the edge of my seat wondering when my own house would turn against me. Donât read this book if youâre alone with your PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, appliances, toys or anything else in your home that connects to the Net. J.G. Sandom has written a book that youâre too scared to read but even more scared to ignore."
Estella Pressley @ amazon.com
"Why is it that typing this review of J.G. Sandomâs 404 on this computer worries me? Probably because I just read a book that does for cyber security what Coma did for hospital procedures. If youâre too young to remember Coma, donât worry. This is your Coma. Fantastic!"
Rovergirl @ amazon.com
"J.G. Sandomâs 404 will make you look at your computer like youâve never seen it before! This book takes all the questions you ever had about internet security and comes back with one answer: be afraid. Sandom is the Robert Ludlum of computer thrillers."
Amazon Customer (San Diego, CA) @ amazon.com
"Thank you J.G Sandom for a nail-biting experience! I'm buying this copy for my friend."
C. A. Raymond @ amazon.com
"The book is a fast read, and it does make one pause to realize how easily the 'Internet of things' could be used for evil."
